BDR Crackfreecrete is a specially designed concrete solution developed to minimize shrinkage and plastic-stage cracking in concrete structures. Fresh concrete is prone to rapid evaporation of moisture due to factors such as high ambient temperature, low relative humidity, and wind velocity. These conditions often lead to plastic shrinkage cracks during the early stages of setting.
BDR Crackfreecrete addresses this challenge by creating an artificial protective barrier over the concrete surface, which significantly reduces the rate of moisture evaporation. This controlled evaporation helps prevent the initiation of plastic-stage cracks and enhances the overall durability of the structure. The system is implemented using polyethylene or tarpaulin sheets, with periodic water sprinkling to maintain surface moisture.
