Workability Retaining Concrete
BDR ProCrete
BDR ProCrete is a specially engineered concrete designed to retain the required workability for extended durations—up to 6 hours after the addition of water—without adversely affecting the fresh or hardened properties of concrete.
This is achieved through the use of new-generation plasticizers and performance-enhancing admixtures, ensuring consistent quality even under delayed placement conditions.
Special Features
- Maintains workability for extended periods without loss of strength
- Delays the hydration process without affecting hardened concrete properties
- Ensures uniform consistency during transportation and placement
Applications
- Projects involving long lead times (more than 2 hours) to site
- Urban projects with heavy traffic and long hauling distances
- Situations where concrete unloading is slow
- RCC columns, chimneys, and silo slip-forming applications
Advantages
- Provides additional time for concrete handling and placement
- Minimizes wastage caused by slump loss
- Reduces the risk of repairs due to poor workability
- Eliminates the need for adding water or admixtures at site
- Ensures surface finish is not compromised, even during delayed pouring
Technical Properties
- Workability retention time: 4–6 hours
- Workability: Available in slump and flow
- Segregation resistance: High
Special Instructions
- Concrete must be placed within the stipulated design period.
